The Board of Directors of the Meadowdale Hills Property Owners Association would like to clarify the status of the Association in terms of short-term rentals (currently, rentals less than thirty-one consecutive days) of properties within the Association.

Meadowdale Hills is zoned “O” (Open) in unincorporated Larimer County, and is not a part of the Estes Valley Planning District. Therefore, we are governed in the matter of short-term rentals by the Land Use Code of Larimer County. The Land Use Code restriction, which has been in place since June15, 1992, prohibits short-term rentals in unincorporated areas zoned “O” (Open) without a special review process.

Short-term vacation rentals have regrettably become a nuisance in the Association. Several complaints have been filed with the Larimer County Code Compliance against owners offering short-term rentals in Meadowdale Hills, and owners have received cease and desist letters from Larimer County. More complaints are pending.
